  • Can produce complex thin walled castings
  • Superb casting finish
  • Good casting integrity

CORFIX adhesives, CORSEAL and TAK sealants

It is often necessary to joint cores together to form assemblies, or to glue cores to moulds before closing the mould. A range of CORFIX adhesives is available.

CORSEAL sealants are a group of core sealing or mudding compounds for filling out joint lines, cracks and minor blemishes in cores.

Small variations in the mating faces of moulds due to flexing of patterns or deformation of moulding boxes and moulding materials may result in gaps into which liquid metal will penetrate causing runout and flash. This can be prevented by the application of TAK plastic mould sealant which forms a metal and gas-tight seal.

PARTISAL release agents

To avoid sticking of the greensand to the pattern plates, PARTISAL highly effective release agent is sprayed onto the pattern. PARTISAL products are available in various grades including an environmentally friendly product without aromatic solvents.

Foseco has developed the PARTISAL 477 ECO release agent that firmly meets the demands of both green sand casting foundries and manufacturers of those casting lines.

NORACEL anti-veining additives

Expansion defects such as veining are mainly associated with silica sands. Various sand additives can reduce or even eliminate veining completely. These are in general, substances that promote plasticity at elevated temperatures either through melting or through reaction with the binder.

All NORACEL additives are specifically designed for optimum performance when used in combination with POLITEC polyurethane cold-box binders.
