Foseco Pro Module
The Foseco Pro Module is a parametric 3D library of sleeve and filter products, combined with proprietary thermophysical data, which has been integrated directly into MAGMASOFT®.
The key benefit is that it reduces the time to set up, model and simulate the performance of Foseco products. The consequence for the foundry is enhanced casting quality and more robust production processes through better correlation between real and simulated casting results.
Foseco works continuously to develop new product technology and application techniques to meet the ever-changing needs of customers. Simulation with MAGMA plays an important role in virtual experimentation and new sleeve development. New additions to the Foseco sleeve product range are made available in the Pro Module database so that MAGMA simulation engineers can integrate them for their daily methoding analysis and optimisation work.
The Foseco Pro Module, parametric 3D library of sleeve and filter products, jointly developed by Foseco and MAGMA, supports the foundry simulation engineer by greatly simplifying the modelling of Foseco products and their performance within MAGMASOFT®. Simulation accuracy is improved by using performance data specific to Foseco sleeve and filter types, leading to greater confidence in the results.
It facilitates optimisation of the casting quality and casting production processes, primarily through improved gating and risering system design.
Key Functionality
- Search and select from a library of Foseco sleeve or filter products directly in the MAGMA geometry perspective.
- Once a product is selected, it is automatically imported into MAGMA as a 3D model.
- Sleeve material thermo-physical data, filter pressure drop data and relevant Heat Transfer Coefficients are automatically assigned to their respective geometries.
- The models are fully parametric and the user can easily change the size or configuration of the chosen product.
- The Foseco Pro Module is the perfect compliment to Optimisation and Design of Experiments studies in MAGMASOFT® v5.4.
