The FENOTEC system is an alkaline phenolic binder cured with an ester hardener. The FENOTEC binder system is free of nitrogen, sulfur and phosphorus. A range of hardeners is available to cater for a wide range of setting times.
Suitable for the production of both molds and cores, FENOTEC can be used on a wide range of castings in a wide range of alloys. FENOTEC is compatible with clean dry silica sand (AFS 30 – 100) as well as chromite, olivine and zircon sands. The system also allows for the reclamation of the molding sand after casting.
FENOTEC is adaptable to all mixing methods but is ideally suited to high speed continuous mixers. Batch mixers can be used but allowances should be made for extended mixing time when selecting the required ester hardener. The high strength of FENOTEC binders means good mold strengths can be achieved at low addition rates.
ESHANOL & FUROTEC furane binders are suitable for the latest moulding methods from rapid resin application with strip times in minutes up to continuous filling of large sand moulds directly from the mixer.
ESHANOL is a range of phenol-free binders which offer excellent strength, ensuring consistent production of even the most complicated cores and moulds with reliable dimensional accuracy and the highest product consistency. The adjusted reactivity of the products ensures binder consumption is minimised and productivity can meet the requirements of the modern foundry. Products are formulated in accordance with the latest environmental legislation. The viscosity of the products is optimised to provide improved sand flowability, whilst sand compaction is eased.
FUROTEC is a range of furane self set binders based on special strength, reactivity and plasticity requirements meeting latest environmental legislations.
CATASET is a range of acid catalysts for ESHANOL & FUROTEC furane binders. Minimal addition rates are required. Sand bench life and curing time can be optimised to suit the foundry requirements.
FEN-O-FEN is a low viscosity binder, which gives good mixing and sand compaction properties. It can be used for the production of a wide range of ferrous castings and is suitable for both cores and moulds.
POLISET is a three part binder system that provides rapid strength development and excellent post casting breakdown.
POLISET AL is a fast cure, two-part cold set binder system for high speed mould production. It is designed for thin-section aluminium castings requiring exceptional post casting breakdown properties. In addition, it has very low odour on mixing and casting.
POLISET E is a three part system providing excellent thermal stability combined with good post casting breakdown properties. It is ideally suited for heavy-section castings in all non-ferrous alloys.
Sand reclamation by dry attrition works well. Re-use of sand up to 90% is possible.
